Week in Review, Week Ahead
Welcome to a new week! Last week, I hoped to be somewhat productive as I adjusted to day shifts. I mostly did nothing and didn't have as many naps as I'd liked.
Cool Stuff from the Internets:
What Makes You Feel Beautiful? Go give your own answer at yes and yes and read these inspiring examples from 10 awesome female bloggers.
7 Tips for Avoiding Procrastination
Wait, that's it? Wow, I guess it's been a really slow week.
This week, I'm going to be ultra productive, to make up for the last several weeks. Hopefully.

Things I Love Thursday
My list has been growing the past few weeks that I've forgotten to post it...it's still not especially long, but...yeah.
Coffee, engagement!, booking some vacation (October 8-12! Thanksgiving!), finding out my brother and sister-in-law are coming home for Thanksgiving, opportunities and more responsibility at work (that involve not having to take as many phone calls), having a stressful job interview over with, friends, electricity, getting a promotion (even though it doesn't come with a pay raise), donair panzerottis, thinking about my wedding (even if I haven't made a lot of plans/decisions yet...), The fiance, the kitty and the hound, quick drying nail polish, getting more of my photos edited, dark dark dark blue nail polish, new jewelry, bird feeders (The bird feeders had been gone for awhile because the fiance took them down during the hurricane and hadn't bothered to put them back up, since we were out of seed. Today I came home and there they were! and full of finches!), Luck -I was searching for a b-day present for my mom and was feeling discouraged because even the stores that always have something she'd like had nothing; I walked into a store I wasn't feeling hopeful about, a there on the very front rack was something perfect!, learning, reading, autumn weather, sweaters.

Week in Review, Week Ahead
Welcome to a new week! Last week, I wanted to clear out my closet, which I did, somewhat, and the get some photo editing done, which I didn't, untill this morning, if that counts for anything. I also wanted to go for a big walk, but it wasn't in the cards. I did, however, get my hair cut, something I'd been putting off for two years.
It really makes it hit home how much my Happiness Commandment, Look Good, Feel Good, really does work. I find myself smiling more, feeling better about myself, more confidant.
some links:
(I may have posted some of these before, I don't remember)
Let's say, for whatever reason, you're the first person to make human contact with aliens. Here's what to do.
Things taste better on sticks
Snail Mail CUTE!
Hey, c'mon - awesome comic
Amazingly Creative Drawing vs Photograph - this is too awesome.
Cutest Camera Assistants ever.
Turtle Eating Flower Omnomnom.
Non-Organic vs Organic- another comic
This week, I'm back on day shifts, so I'll probably spend most of my time exhausted and trying to readjust. Hopefully I'll find some way to be productive

Week in Review, Week Ahead
Happy Sunday! Last week, I did get some of that photo editing done that I've been talking about every week forever. I'm getting closer! The walks...well, I went on one big walk and one little one, which is better then nothing.
A few links:
25 Ways to Cuten Up a Box with a Cat - Kitties in boxes!
7500 Shoppers Unknowingly Sold Their Souls - aka You Really Should Be Reading that EULA Before Hitting 'I Accept'.
People Magazine Uses Photo Without Permission, Receives Cake Invoice - Brilliant.
88 Brilliant Examples of Forced Prospective Photography - Some of these have been circulating the internet for ages now, some were new to me. All were incredible.
XKCD Wedding Cake - How seriously cool is that?
Earth From Above a collection of aerial photography produced by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
This week, I'm still on a night shift, with weird days off, so my schedule is still a little out of whack. I want to tackle two projects: photo editing (getting there, little by little) and my closet (it is over flowing with clothes that I just don't wear). And I want to go on at least one epic walk (an hour or more). That should keep me busy, I'm sure.
What are you up to this week?

It's Monday! Why not Celebrate?
Today is Labor Day, a day in celebration of the worker. For a lot of people, it means not working, relaxing and enjoying the end of summer. For me, it's the day I go to work and make huge stacks of cash for working on a stat holiday. Not only is it Labor Day, there are also two other holidays happening today.
Fight Procrastination Day:
It's a Day to Get things Done.
I don't know about you, but I have a huge probably with procrastination. I put things off, and put them off and so on and so on. Today is a day to start fighting that urge!
What can you do to celebrate? Start that huge project you've been putting off. Make a to do list and check everything off. Finish a project that's not due for another week.
Read a Book Day:
Take some time out of your busy life to relax and read a book.
Once you've tackled those things you've been procrastinating about, you'll need to relax a little. How about celebrating that other holiday happening today and read a book? I know I wish I did a lot more reading then I do.
Book I'm currently reading:
If it's cooler where you are today, snuggle up under the covers; if you're still getting summer like weather, enjoy the sunshine. And read a book.
What are you celebrating today?

Week in Review, Week Ahead
Welcome to a new week! Two Weeks Ago, I posted my last weekly review, which was also two weeks in one...No, I don't plan on making it Bi-week in Review, Bi-week ahead. I'd say it's been busy, but that would be a lie. It's been the same amount of busy as normal. Only four big things have been going on: Last Friday (Aug 27th) my boyfriend of almost 8 years asked me to marry him (!! - very exciting!), I had a bit off a fall (the details are a little hazy...there may have been alcohol involved) that lead to some major bruises (otherwise I'm thankfully alright), I had a job interview (that went way better then I'd expected) and it's been insanely hot. In my last weekly round up, I planned to get some photo editing done, and I did! I also got them posted to flickr, which was an extra bonus. That's May's photo's completed, now I just need to do June through August, and then start on September. Yeah, I'm a little behind. I have, however organized and named all of the photos I've taken up to yesterday, so now it's just a matter of editing and posting.
Cool stuff from around the internet:
4 Things in your House Dirtier then a Toilet.
Because Messy is Fun - Read this, it's awesome.
Artificial Ape Man: How Technology Created Humans
The Eternal Value of Privacy - Why privacy is important, even when you're not doing anything wrong.
CSI See You - Funny family portrait.
I can't...even describe this. It's too incredible.
The 7 Most Badass Women in History
Weird news: A Florida man was arrested for yelling at his bicycle.
The Last Psychiatrist on the Love The Way You Lie video - brilliant piece.
Yes and Yes alerts us to an awesome FREE e-book! A Brief Guide to World Domination. It's absolutely excellent and would definitely suggest reading it.
This week, I'm on a night shift again, so my schedule is a little off. I'm hoping to have some time in the morning to go on a couple of major walks, now that the heat wave seems to have past. I'm also going to get on with this photo editing stuff.

Excited Otters
It's Saturday, and it's been a really long time since I've posted. That's something I'm hoping will change soon. Here in Nova Scotia, we're sitting around waiting for a hurricane/tropical storm to hit. Could be a big day (or a lot of hype). Anyway, here's a video of some excited otters.
